Mr. Naguib Sawiris founded Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) and led it to become the leading regional telecom player until the much-publicized merger deal with VEON (formerly VimpelCom Ltd.), creating the world’s sixth largest mobile telecommunications provider in April 2011.

Mr. Sawiris is Executive Chairman of Orascom Investment Holding, a holding company investing in industries that are critical to shaping the future, including financial services, food industries, real estate development, cultural development, logistics and transport.
Mr. Sawiris is Chairman of La Mancha Holding, the private natural resource investment vehicle of the Sawiris family group with equity investments in Evolution Mining, Endeavour Mining and Golden Star Resources.
Mr. Sawiris is also Chairman of Ora, a company undertaking high-end real estate developments in various prime locations around the world.
In 2015, the Sawiris family acquired a majority stake in Euronews where Mr. Sawiris is Chairman of the board. The Sawiris family also has ownership in several assets in the media business in Egypt.

At international and regional levels, Mr. Sawiris served and is serving on a number of boards, committees and councils including International Advisory Committee to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), International Advisory Board to the National Bank of Kuwait, London Stock Exchange Group’s Africa Advisory Group, External Advisory Council to the Global Institute for Advanced Study at NYU, the Boards of Trustees of Nile University (NU), the French University in Egypt (UFE), and the Arab Thought Foundation. Mr. Sawiris is also the recipient of numerous honorary degrees, industry awards and civic honors, including the “Legion d’Honneur“ (the highest award given by the French Republic for outstanding services rendered to France). In July 2011 Mr. Sawiris was awarded the Honor of Commander of the Order of the “Stella della Solidarietà Italiana” (Star of Italian Solidarity). In 2006, the prestigious “Sitara-e-Quaid-e-Azam” award was conferred upon him by General Pervez Musharref for services rendered to the people of Pakistan in the field of telecommunication, investments and social sector work. Mr. Sawiris holds a diploma of Mechanical Engineering with a Masters in Technical Administration from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zürich) and a Diploma from the German Evangelical School, Cairo, Egypt.

Ms. Wafaa Lotaief has worked with the Orascom Group for more than three decades. Since November 2011, she has been appointed as President of Gemini Holding, a company holding a diverse group of assets across various industries including technology, banking and real estate development

Before her current position, she served in various roles in the Orascom Group of companies since 1983. Over the span of these 30 years she has had extensive experience in management and corporate services. From June 1999 until November 2011, she was the Group Human Resources & Administration Officer of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH). In this Executive Committee role, she has actively participated in and extensively contributed to the start-up, development and growth of OTH to be the leading regional telecom player serving over 100 million subscribers through over 28 countries in the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and Canada.

Her areas of responsibilities encompassed the global human resources and corporate services domains of the Group in addition to supporting its expansion through her continuous participation and contribution to the Investment Committee’s strategy formulation and implementation. From 2006 to 2011, Ms. Lotaief held the position of Human Resources and Administration Vice President of Weather Investments S.p.A. In this post, she was a key member of the task force which led the strategic turnaround of Wind Telecommunicazione. Her responsibilities incorporated all the HR and administration functional areas of the Weather Group. Ms. Lotaief was also a member of the GSM Association’s Global People Initiative which comprised of the HR Vice Presidents and CHRO’s of the world’s largest mobile operators across the continents, from 2007 to 2011.

Ms. Lotaief holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cairo University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Arab Academy for Sciences. She is a Board member of Marchmont limited, Orascom TMT Investment S.a.r.l., Libero Acquisition S.a.r.l.. La Mancha Holding S.a.r.l. and various subsidiaries.

Fabio Ceccarelli is serving as CFO of OTMTI Sarl and joined the Orascom Group in 2005. He has several years of experience in finance with roles of responsibility in Luxembourg and in Italy where he developed competences in Corporate Finance, Accounting, Tax and Treasury. He has several years of experience as Director in both in operating companies and financial vehicles. His previous experience includes ENEL SPA (1990-2003) with different roles and the participation to the privatization process of the group and the star-up of a newco ENEL.SI, specialized in beyond the meter services. In 2003 he joined WIND Telecomunicazioni Spa with responsibility of Treasury Dept., and taking part to the acquisition of WIND by Sawiris/Orascom Group.
Fabio holds a master degree in Macroeconomics and Internal Audit and speaks all major european languages (IT, FR, EN, GE).
